CBM1’s Jason Ehrenpreis recently completed a lease with The Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) comedy troupe on +/-2,957 SF former dry cleaners in a strip center at the intersection of Bronson Avenue and Franklin Avenue. The property is situated across Bronson Avenue from a busy, high-volume sales Gelson’s Grocery Store and across Franklin from the Scientology Celebrity Center, which occupies nearly a full square block between Franklin Avenue and the 101 freeway.
The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCB Theatre) is an improvisational comedy troupe founded by the Upright Citizens Brigade members Matt Besser, Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts, and Matt Walsh, all of whom have become successful film and television actors. Prior to the pandemic, UCB operated several venues in New York City and Los Angeles but scaled down to a single location on Franklin Avenue (just around the corner from the subject site). The newly leased space will serve as a training facility offering courses in comedy, improvisation, and acting.
The well-located site is three blocks above Hollywood Boulevard and just east of the 101 freeway access at Franklin Avenue + Argyle Avenue in the heart of Hollywood.
