Hats off to CBM1’s Dave O’Connell + Matthew Brutzkus!
Dave and Matt recently completed a lease with Zankou Chicken, a popular Southern California Mediterranean restaurant chain, for the +/- 1,650 SF former Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in a pad building on Moorpark Road immediately adjacent to Janss Marketplace.
Though its origins trace back to a neighborhood restaurant in Beirut, Lebanon, the Zankou Chicken beloved by countless SoCal residents was launched by the Iskenderian family in 1983. In the nearly three decades since opening their first location, at Sunset and Normandie in the heart of Hollywood, the enterprise has grown to encompass 12 sites across Southern California. And Zankou’s latest Thousand Oak location marks the chain’s first expansion into Ventura County.
The property is situated amid a half dozen retail and restaurant pad buildings just north of the mammoth Janss Marketplace. An open-air shopping mall, Janss is home to a diverse collection of A+ retailers, including Aldi’s Grocery Store, Nordstrom Rack, Petco, Ulta Beauty, Dave & Busters, and many more.
