CBM1’s Aaron Guido + Daniel Barriga recently completed a lease with master sushi chef Taiki Kuramoto for his debut solo restaurant venture, aptly named Kuramoto. The new, highly anticipated sushi restaurant will occupy a +/-1,450 retail space at Gateway Village shopping center, at the intersection of Edinger Avenue and Red Hill Avenue in prime Tustin.
Chef Taiki is a former partner in Hamamori Restaurant + Sushi Bar and a one-time executive chef at Michelin-starred Momoyama, a celebrated sushi restaurant in Orange County’s Fountain Valley community. Kuramoto is the culmination of Taiki’s 17+ year career honing his sushi-making skill to deliver what the OC Register calls: “A traditional Japanese omakase experience with modern skills and laughs by Chef Taiki.” Omakase is a Japanese phrase roughly translating to “I’ll leave it up to you.” An approach that rewards dinners with a customized menu comprised entirely of original creations expertly crafted by master Chef Taiki.
Superbly located in southwest Tustin, just north of Irvine proper, Gateway Village is surrounded by a plethora of bustling office parks and densely populated residential neighborhoods. This includes Tustin Meadows, a massive 935 single-family home residential development situated a few short blocks east of the center.
